Ivory Belongs To Elephants. Hands off Our Elephants

Elephants are being killed for their Ivory. This trade has seen thousands of Elephants killed for their Tusks. Let us all condemn the sale of Ivory made ornaments and other souvenirs, and save lives of the few remaining elephants.
Today, President Uhuru Kenyatta burned Ivory tusks weighing 15tonnes that were found from poachers and as a show that Kenya says NO to Ivory trade.
He said that twenty-five years since ivory trade was banned, new demand from emerging markets threatens Africa's elephants and rhinos. African countries are concerned about the scale and rate of the new threat to endangered wildlife species.
"Many of these tusks belonged to elephants which were wantonly slaughtered by criminals. We want future generations of Kenyans, Africans and the entire world to experience the majesty and beauty of these magnificent beasts. Poachers and their enablers will not have the last word," The President said before setting ablaze an almost 10 feet high pile of huge elephant tusks doused with petrol.
High demand for ivory is leadind to elephant killed by poachers across Africa. Save The Elephants org said that last year, 100,000 elephants were killed in Africa between 2010 and 2012. On Thursday, China imposed a one-year ban on ivory imports after criticism that implicated its citizens' for the huge appetite of ivory threatening the existence of Africa's elephants.
Let us desist from wishing for or gifting people with Ivory made gifts. Elephants have feelings too. So please, lets all condemn the trade.

Ivory belongs to the Elephants campaign led by Mr. Jim Justus Nyamu, the Director of Elephants Neighbors center, who has walked from Washington to publicize the cry for banning of Ivory trade, has clocked over 5000km walking to save the elephants.
